今年是國際天文年～不是台灣自己定的～是經由國際天文會議決定的。

"國際天文聯合會（The International Astronomical Union, IAU）與聯合國教科文組織（UNESCO）已共同提出，將2009年定為「全球天文年」的決議，這項決議是由伽利略的故鄉義大利所提出，並在2007年12月20日的第62屆聯合國大會上經正式確定，這一決定主要是為了紀念1609年伽利略首次用望遠鏡進行天文觀測400週年。"

所以這一整年，在世界各地都有很多為了天文年特別辦的活動。台灣也有不少活動，有興趣的人可以去找來參加。2009國際天文年網站 英文版 中文版

昨天聽到了國際天文年的歌～"Shoulders Of Giants"，覺得非常的感動。
想到所作的研究起源是從四百年前伽利略拿起望遠鏡對著天空看，我就覺得很有意思。
